Making Botanical Ephemera and Your Creative Studio Unboxing

Sometimes in the depths of winter, it’s a good exercise to make some springy ephemera! Ok – you could do this in the spring (or summer or fall for that matter!), but no matter what the weather, it’s nice to have some tags and notecards and pockets on hand for use in your next spring or botanical themed journal.

I was generously sent the Your Creative Studio subscription box theme “Flower” and after a little unboxing, I decided to get some ephemera going with all the wonderful contents of the box.

This box included a wide variety of items, including (and I’m probably missing some!):

  • Fussy cut card stock images – flowers and greenery
  • A book of square stamp stickers, which are flower themed
  • Papers in a variety of sizes and weights – including card stock and vellum (which I loved!)
  • Washi tape in a matching color scheme
  • 4 rubber stamps with the most intricate flowers, as well as a collage stamp with both flowers and vintage handwriting
  • Complimentary papers and sticker that had vintage advertisements and newspaper print on them
  • Clear botanical sketch stickers
  • Matching tissue paper pieces that would be perfect decoupage

Using the papers, stickers and fussy cut items in the box, I ended up making 3 tags – which all look similar, but each is unique because of the variety of papers in the kit. I put different tag toppers on them and even decorated the backs with the stamps and washi tape. The vellum papers included in the kit made perfect backers for these tags!

I also made 3 small notecards with some of the smaller papers and stickers, and decided that these would make great tuck spots or pockets in my journal.
